Netbanking makes banking so much easier. You can do various banking operations online, from the comfort of your home or office. This article explains how to register for HDFC netbanking by different methods. It also explains how to login, and how to regenerate password if forgotten.
How to register for HDFC netbanking online?
If your mobile number is registered with the bank, please follow the given steps to register for netbanking online:
- Log onto the official HDFC bank website
- Select ‘NetBanking‘ from the drop-down box on the right.
- Then click on ‘Register‘.
- On the next page that opens, scroll down, and then click on ‘Register Online‘.
- On the next page, click on ‘Register for NetBanking by generating a One Time Password (OTP)‘.
- Now enter your Customer ID, and then click on ‘Go‘. (You can find your Customer ID in the welcome letter given to you at the time of opening the account, and also on the first page of your passbook, cheque book and account statement.)
- After this you have to confirm you registered mobile number.
- You will then receive a OTP on your number.
- Enter the OTP.
- You also have to enter your debit card details.
- You can then set your IPIN (netbanking password).
- Now login with your new IPIN!
Note: The above steps are for resident as well as non-resident customers with a domestic mobile number registered with the bank. If you are a non-resident customer with an international mobile number registered with the bank, please click here. For you, one OTP will be sent to your mobile number, and another OTP will be sent to your email address. You have to enter both OTPs.
How to register for HDFC netbanking by phone?
To register for netbanking by phone, please follow the given steps:
- Call the HDFC phone banking number for your respective city. (You can search for the number here.)
- Now you can either give your Customer ID and Telephone Identification Number (TIN), or your debit card number and ATM PIN.
- The phone banking representative will note your netbanking registration request.
- Then the IPIN will be couriered to your registered mailing address within 5 days.
How to register for HDFC netbanking via ATM?
It is very easy to register for netbanking at an ATM by following these steps:
- Go to your nearest HDFC bank ATM.
- Insert your debit card, and then enter your ATM PIN.
- Select ‘Other Option‘ on the screen.
- Select ‘NetBanking Registration‘.
- Your IPIN will be sent to you via courier on your registered mailing address.
How to register for HDFC netbanking by visiting the bank branch?
To register for netbanking at the bank branch, please follow the given steps:
- Download the registration form for individuals from here. Download the registration form for corporates from here. (You can also get it from the bank branch.)
- Fill up the form.
- Submit it at your nearest HDFC bank branch.
- Your IPIN will be sent to you via courier on your registered mailing address.
Note: For either of the above methods, there is no charge for netbanking registration request.
How to login to HDFC netbanking?
Login to HDFC netbanking by following these simple steps:
- Log onto the official HDFC bank website
- Select ‘NetBanking‘ from the drop-down box on the right.
- Then click on ‘Login‘.
- Enter your Customer ID/User ID, and IPIN.
How to login if you have forgotten your password?
If you have forgotten your IPIN, don’t worry. You can easily reset it by following the given steps:
- Log onto the official HDFC bank website
- Select ‘NetBanking‘ from the drop-down box on the right.
- Then click on ‘Register‘.
- On the next page that opens, scroll down, and then click on ‘Regenerate IPIN (password) online‘.
- Enter your Customer ID/User ID.
- You will now have to select one of two optional methods for authentication –
1. OTP sent on your registered mobile number + debit card details.
2. OTP sent on your registered mobile number and email ID. (This method is not applicable for resident senior citizens.) - Enter the details, and then confirm.
- Set your new IPIN.
- You can now login using the new IPIN.
Note: You can also request a new/regenerated IPIN by calling phone banking, going to an HDFC bank ATM, or going to your nearest HDFC bank branch. You will be charged Rs.100 plus taxes for courier of the new IPIN.
