If you know your SBI account number, can you find out your SBI branch? Yes, you can. This article explains how to search SBI branch by account number.
You can find your SBI branch using account number by any of the following methods –
Method 1 – Go to your nearest SBI branch. At the help-desk, tell your account number, show your ID card, and ask for your branch. The branch code is generally a part of the account number, so a bank official can easily tell you your branch. They can also check it in their system.
Please note that you can only make inquiries regarding your own account. If it is somebody else’s account, they will not entertain you.
Method 2 – If any of your friends has an account in SBI, ask him/her to transfer you some money via internet banking. After adding you as the beneficiary, and making the transaction (even Rs.10 will do), the branch name will be displayed on the transaction slip.
Please note that this works only for transfers within the same bank.
Method 3 – If you have registered for internet banking, you can find your branch details under account summary. If you have not registered for internet banking, you can do so.
Method 4 – If you have your passbook, check it’s first page. You will find all the branch related details there.
If none of the above are possible, you can call SBI customer care to ask for your branch details.
