How to generate PIN of new SBI ATM Debit Card?

To use your new ATM debit card, you first need the PIN. So this article explains all the different methods to generate the PIN of your new SBI ATM debit card.

Generate PIN of new SBI debit card online through net banking:

After receiving your new card, you need to first activate it. So how to activate your card online?

  1. Log onto the official SBI website.
  2. Login by entering your username and password.
  3. Click on the ‘e-Services‘ tab.
  4. Now click on ‘ATM Card Activation‘ > ‘New ATM Card Activation‘.
  5. Select your account.
  6. Enter the 16 digit card number from your new card.
  7. Click ‘Activate‘.

Now your card is active. To generate the PIN via net banking, follow these simple steps:

  1. After you logged in on the SBI website, click on ‘e-Services‘ > ‘ATM Card Services‘.
  2. Click on ‘ATM PIN Generation‘.
  3. Now, you will have to validate your account either through OTP or by entering your profile password.
  4. Select your account and card.
  5. Enter your desired first two digits. The last two digits will be sent to your registered mobile number.
  6. After entering the first two and last two digits, submit.

Done! You can now start using your card.


Generate PIN of new SBI debit card through ATM:

To generate the PIN via an ATM, follow these steps:

  1. Go to any SBI ATM. (Do not go the ATM of any other bank for an SBI card.)
  2. Click on the ‘PIN Generation‘ option at the bottom-right corner of the ATM screen.
  3. Then enter your account number and mobile number.
  4. Confirm the above.
  5. An OTP (One Time PIN) will be sent to your registered mobile number.
  6. This OTP is valid for 2 days. You have to use it to change the PIN at any State Bank ATM.

Generate PIN of new SBI debit card through SMS:

It is very easy to generate the PIN through SMS. Just follow the given steps:

  1. Send an SMS to 567676 in the following format – ‘PIN <CCCC> <AAAA>’ (PIN space CCCC space AAAA)
  2. Here CCCC stand for the last four digits of your card number and AAAA stand for the last four digits of your account number.
  3. An OTP (One Time PIN) will then be sent to your registered mobile number.
  4. This OTP is valid for 2 days. You have to use it to change the PIN at any State Bank ATM.

Generate PIN of new SBI debit card through IVR:

IVR stands for Interactive Voice Response. To generate the PIN through IVR, follow these simple steps:

  1. Call the SBI Contact Centre at 1800 112211 or 1800 425 3800 from your registered mobile number.
  2. Enter your SBI ATM debit card number when asked.
  3. Similarly, enter your eleven-digit account number.
  4. An OTP (One Time PIN) will then be sent to your registered mobile number.
  5. This OTP is valid for 2 days. You have to use it to change the PIN at any State Bank ATM.

Get PIN of new SBI debit card from branch:

You can get the PIN mailer from an SBI branch. You can also get a PPP (Pre Printed PIN) Kit from the branch. Just fill out a form for the kit, and submit a photocopy of your ID.


Generate PIN of new SBI debit card from APP:

Another option is downloading the SBI QUICK APP and using the PIN generation option.
