LIC Policy Payment Online on the official LIC website: Step by Step Guide

Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has made it very easy to pay policy premiums online. You can make the payment online via net banking, debit card, or credit card directly on their website. This article covers how to make LIC policy payment online for both registered users as well as non-registered users via the official LIC website.

LIC Policy Payment Online for Registered Users

  • Go to the official LIC website.
  • Under ‘Online Services’ on the left-hand side of the page, click on ‘Pay Premium Online’.

  • On the next page that opens, click on ‘Through Customer Portal’.
  • Then you have to enter your details. Under ‘Select Role’ choose ‘Customer’. Enter your registered email ID or mobile number, password, and date of birth. And then click on ‘Sign In’.

  • After signing in, you have to enroll your policy to retrieve the policy details.
  • So click on ‘Enroll Policies’ under the e-services section in the left-hand side menu.
  • Enter your policy number and premium amount.
  • Then click on ‘View Enrolled Policies’, the second option in the left-hand side menu.
  • The next page displays a code. Enter the code and click on ‘Submit’.
  • Now you can see your policy details.
  • After entering LIC’s online services portal, you can view all your enrolled policies. To view the details, click on the policy number.
  • After viewing the policy details, click on the ‘Pay Premium Online’ option.
  • Now click on ‘LIC Pay Premium Online’ tab.
  • Then from the list of policies enrolled in your account, select the policy you want to pay premium for. And then click ‘Submit’.
  • After that, you are redirected to the payment gateway page.
  • You can select your payment method – via net banking or debit card or credit card.
  • Most major banks are supported for net banking. Debit/credit card payments are processed through the IDBI bank payment gateway. Convenience fee and service tax is charged according to card type.
  • Once you make the payment, the receipt will be mailed to your registered email ID.

LIC Policy Payment Online for Non-Registered Users

  • Go to the official LIC website.
  • Under ‘Online Services’ on the left-hand side of the page, click on ‘Pay Premium Online’.
  • On the next page, click on ‘Pay Direct (Without login)’.
  • From the ‘Pay Direct’ drop-down box, choose ‘Renewal Premium/Revival’.

  • The next page just shows the 3 simple steps to make the payment online. Click on ‘Proceed’.
  • For ‘Customer Validation’, enter your policy number, date of birth, registered mobile number, installment premium amount, and email ID.

  • Enter the captcha code, tick the ‘I Agree’ check-box, and then click on ‘Submit.
  • Next, on the ‘Premium Particulars’ page, verify the information about your policy.
  • Then click on ‘Checkout’.
  • The next page will again show columns of your policy related information along with additional charges, if any.
  • There may be charges like service tax, education cess, late fee, etc.
  • Check the total premium amount, and then click on ‘Submit’.
  • Now you can make the payment via net banking (through BillDesk) or via debit/credit card (through IDBI gateway).

Notes –

  • Customers outside India can also make payments via the above methods.
  • You can use the above methods to make payments for only ordinary policies which are in-force.
  • You can’t make payments for Salary Saving Scheme (SSS) policies through these methods.
  • LIC does not charge any fee for the online payment service.
  • You can make the premium payment only 30 days before the due date (15 days in case of term insurance plans).
  • For late payments, LIC charges a late fee at the rate of 8% (minimum Rs.5).

You can also pay your policy premium online via authorised banks, franchisees, and merchants.
