Aadhaar Card to Become Mandatory for Banks, PAN, Insurance, Tickets & more

What is Aadhaar card and where is it mandatory?

Aadhaar card  is issued and managed by the Unique Identification  Authority of India (UIDAI). It is a 12-digit unique number issued by the Central government to Indian citizens. It records and verify the biometric details of every Indian citizen.

Banks, financial institutions and telecom companies uses Adhaar Card for user verification. Recently in the month of MARCH 2017, the Supreme Court ordered that the government should use Aadhaar Card to verify bank accounts, filing of tax returns, mobile phone etc.


Schemes & services of recent announcements by the government where Aadhaar is mandatory:


PAN Card

(PAN) Permanent Account Number is a ten-digit unique code, issued by the Income Tax Department. It is in the form of a laminated card. From 1st April 2017, having Adhaar card is mandatory to get a new pan card.

 


Railway Ticket Booking:
While booking railway ticket, it is mandatory that you should submit your Aadhar card.


 

Maternity Benefit Programme:

Indira Gandhi Matritva Sahyog Yojana (IGMSY) is a maternity benefit program. Government of India run this program for pregnant women of 19 years of age or above for first two live births. It is a conditional cash transfer scheme by the govt.


 

Mid Day meal benefits require Aadhaar:

This Scheme is design for a school meal programme by the Government of India. The aim of this scheme is to improve the nutritional status of school-age children.

 

 

 


EPF Pension:

EPF pension  is a scheme for the employees of organised sector. These employees don’t have any pension scheme from their organization. This pension scheme gives a guaranteed monthly pension after the retirement.


Income Tax Filing:

User need to verify his/her Adhaar card while filing tax returns from 2017 onwards.


Sim Card:

To get a new sim card, It is mandatory  to submit your Aadhar card along with other documents required by the telecom companies.

 


Driving License

The Union Cabinet has decided to link the process of issuing driving licences and all type of vehicle registration to Aadhaar. So, the Aadhaar card will be Compulsory for driving licence & vehicle registration.

 

 

 


Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan for for disabled children

It is the scheme in which government will provide Education for the Children with Disabilities. Now, to avail this scheme Aadhaar card will be mandatory.

 


Mandatory for women to avail vocational training, loans

Aadhaar card to become mandatory for the women, who want to avail the loan schemes & vocational trainings

 

 


To avail central scholarships at college level

To avail the benefits of Central Sector Scholarship Scheme for College and University students, they should have to furnish the proof of Aadhaar card. 

 


Avail Digital Locker Facility

Government of India has recently introduced digital locker facility to safe your important documents online. So, to avail this facility, all you need is your Aadhaar number

 


Buy Insurance Policy

If you want to buy an insurance policy, you need to fill your Aadhaar number in the form field and all your details will be automatically filled from the UIDAI servers.

 

 


Receive LPG Subsidy:

You can link your Aadhaar card number with your bank account and LPG consumer number. After that, you will receive LPG subsidy money directly  transferred into your bank account.
