UIDAI has recently launched a self-service UIDAI portal (SSUP) where you can perform update your aadhaar card online. This cancels out the need to run repeatedly to the enrollment centre in case of any error in your Aadhaar card or in case you need to update certain details. It is user-friendly and very easy to use portal. In this article, we will enlist everything you can do on the SSUP portal especially step by step guide on how to update your mobile number and later check the status of your update.

How to update mobile number on SSUP?

You can update your mobile number online by using the SSUP portal.

Step 1: Go to the official  SSUP portal by clicking here ( ssup.uidai.gov.in )

Step 2: Towards the end of the page you will find a ‘Click here‘ option in order to submit your update request.

Step 3: A new tab will open requesting your Aadhaar card number. Provide correctly your 12 digit Aadhaar number. You will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number. Verify the same.

Step 4: Then you will be provided with options on the details you want to update. Select ‘mobile number‘ and click on submit.

Step 5: Verify your mobile number. Then provide your new number. Then click on ‘submit update request’

You will then receive a confirmation for the submission of your update request. It will also display an unique URN. Note this down and check your status of update. Once the updated aadhaar card is ready, you can download it.

How to check the status of your update request on SSUP?

Step 1: Click here for the official site of SSUP.

Step 2: On the upper right corner, click on ‘Update status‘

Step 3: Enter your Aadhaar number as well as URN number. 

It will display the status of your updated Aadhaar card. If your Aadhaar card is ready for download, you can preview it and then download it.
